We're back!!! Hello all blogger followers and please accept my apologies for the lack of blog posts and updates over the last two months.  We have been extremely busy. We have said goodbye to our condo downtown, bought a house (which needs some TLC) and moved. That has taken up the majority of our time add onto the fact that we both are working, the Rorster has had some major adjusting and not to forget that Canaussie2 is soon to arrive at the end of this month! No excuses - that's just been our life over that last two months!

But here is peek into some of the fun times we have had too!

July was Stampede fever with a scorching hot two weeks of cowboy craziness and fireworks every night.  We took part in watching the parade and even pulled out our cowboy hats for the occasion! Rory loved the parade and perfected his 'Yee-haw'.

Before the big move we escaped the madness of boxes (empty and packed) and ventured to the mountains for a long weekend of camping.  We hiked, we had a curious grizzly making an appearance everyday (along with Park Wardens and their dogs, oh and rifles!)to scare the visitor away.  This was Rory's first camping trip in a big boy sleeping bag, campfires and hikes without the stroller.

We had sun, rain, wind, mosquitoes and coolish temperatures - but we made the most of it and enjoyed some walks in the rain. Not to forget to mention lots of puddle splashing and rock throwing!

We are lucky enough to be closer to family and we now even have a backyard and room to host a family bbq welcoming some special visitors, Grandma and grandpa!  The hot temperatures prompted a purchase of a pool which all enjoyed a cool dip.

A thank you to grandma and grandpa Werkman doesn't quite cover it for all the help with the new house and looking after a very excited Rory for two weeks.  Hours were spent digging and moving and lugging and more digging to make the yard a little more safer for the Rorster - an awesome job and we could not have done it without their help!!

Rory was especially excited to have some quiet time with grandpa building his first bird feeder and time helping both grandma and grandpa with the digging.

On one of the weekends mum was still here we ventured again to the mountains for a hike and picnic lunch.  All of us, even Rory, hiked the Canadian Mount Everest Trail to be rewarded with spectacular scenery at the summit.  Rory's first summit - his little legs climbed some enormous steps and was so determined to keep going and not go in the backpack carrier, that he motivated all of us to keeping on trekking.  What an intrepid hiker!! Some M&M's also helped to motivate us all!

The summit view!

Tired legs, but still some smiles from all hikers!

Yes, even the pregnant mum enjoyed (and survived) the hike.  There is something about the magical scenery of the mountains that puts a little extra bounce in one's step.  We were all so proud of Rory making it up the mountain - without a single complaint - just lots of requests for a M&M break!

One of my most favourite shots of Rory. It's a rarity he is still for longer than 5 seconds, but again the scenery even had Rory taking a moment to take it all in!

After a few more photos, we headed to one of our favourite spots for a treat of ice cream!!

Mum and Rory have been able to enjoy the beautiful sunshine with some time exploring our favourite local spot - Fish Creek. We spent the morning walking, spotting deer and chickadees and of course throwing rocks.

Rory taking some time to do some drawing along the path.  This is his jellyfish.  I thought it was pretty impressive for a two year old!

So I hope I have been able to update you on our lives over the last two months. I do promise to keep you up to date a little more frequently. We hope everyone had a safe and happy summer (winter for the southern hemisphere folk).  See you soon xx
