A chilly morning

It was a chilly autumn morning with a few raindrops joining us on our walk at Fish Creek.
We teamed up with Auntie Shari, Bree and Jenna to brave the crisp air and have a wander through Fish Creek park.

A visit at Fish Creek isn't complete without a few rocks to throw into the stream. Although there was a biting wind that made the rock throwing rather short before we made our way back up the bank for some shelter away from the chilly breeze.

Leaves, stones, and sticks were gathered and shared.

Rory enjoyed some stick drawing and gathering leaves.

A very proud Rory with his 'big' find! He carried this stick along the path with the biggest grin!

A game of 'peek a boo' with Bree soon became a game of chase through the leaves and around the trees.

All this fresh cool air and running about led to one exhausted little Rory, who couldn't quite keep his heavy eyes open until we got home. It's hard work keeping up to his twin cousins Bree and Jenna. Thanks for the visit Auntie Shari xx

Fall evenings

We took advantage of another beautiful and warm evening and ventured to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. It is just a short drive from our home and I am sure we will visit again soon, as it has lovely grounds and a fantastic trail for Rory's little legs to wander and run through.

The pond was too inviting for Rory to ignore and he soon found some rocks to toss in and watch them splash.

The tall grass provided lots of fun for Rory to run through. We were even lucky enough to spot a deer in the woods as we walked past.

A great new find for the Augustine's - looking forward to exploring this place in all the seasons.

Canmore to Banff...on bikes

Happy Fall to everyone!

We have been experiencing more summer like weather than Fall, so we decided to pack up our bikes, for maybe the last time this season and head to the mountains.
With bright blue skies (and the occasional ominous dark cloud), warm sunshine, towering Rocky Mountains and a trail lined with golden orange and yellow trees, the Augustine bike adventure was a go!

We headed to Cascade Ponds for a picnic lunch.

Rory was introduced to throwing rocks off a bridge and loved it!! I think Rory pretended to throw rocks all the way home in the bike trailer.

Rock throwing - Rocky Mountain style.

Rory loved running through all the fallen leaves.

Finding the perfect leaf!

What a fantastic autumn day in the mountains! A great bike ride, yummy picnic, more wonderful memories as a family.

Fish Creek

There is definitely no better way to spend a sunny, warm Sunday in September then with a stroll through one of our favourite spots close to home - Fish Creek. It was a beautiful morning, quiet and peaceful, with the leaves just starting to change colour. I so love autumn time!

Our favourite little rock throwing place was our destination. The river was extremely low, I have never seen it so low. We could actually walk to the other side, but it made for awesome rocking throwing conditions for Rory(and Lindsay!).

Rory and dad discussing the finer details of how to throw rocks to make the biggest splash. Lots of giggles and 'woas' were bellowed out as Rory threw some pretty big rocks.

Rory absolutely loves throwing rocks into the water and we've been making the most of some beautiful weather before the white stuff begins to fall.

We had a fantastic day. Rory enjoyed exploring the pathways on foot for a change and not from the stroller. He walked almost the entire way - well not exactly walked, but ran and chased dad! Only stopping occasionally to pick up a rock or leaf. Quite the little explorer we have!

Ontario Trip

Welcome to the Garden Oasis...

The Augustine's hopped on good ole Westjet for a trip to Ontario for a week. We were very lucky to have a week full of visits with family and friends, delicious eats and treats and even some time relaxing in mum and dads' outdoor oasis.

It was an absolute scorcher - how I don't miss the Ontario humidity. Rory however loved the little swimming pool we picked up. Every morning Rory woke up he was downstairs at the door knocking away to go outside even though he still had his pjs on! Rory gave up knocking and went running to grammie and grandpa to steal some bites of their toast.

There were many trips to the park, where a hill was great entertainment. Rory ran up and down that hill as many times as his little legs would carry him.

Rory also mastered the slide while in Ontario. He doesn't go on his belly or hold onto mum and dad's hands any longer - what a big boy!! A little teary eye for mum - our Rory is growing up!

Lots of time for games and giggles with Grammie! There was always time for a game of chase - around the house or around the garden - Rory was game for anyone to chase. Although this did lead to some bumps and scrapes, even a few tears - all part of being a little boy with endless energy!

Peek a boo!! I think Rory provided a lot of entertainment for anyone who was visiting. He could start up a game of peek a boo anywhere and be sure to a get smile from whoever was near him - even strangers!

Rory had lots hugs and lovely visits with his great grandparents!

Rory became the big helper at grammies and grandpa's home. From emptying the dishwasher to putting away toys to helping grandpa with the evening watering - Rory was all hands on.

I couldn't leave Ontario without a long overdue visit to Port Dover and their famous Arbour Dog! I don't know what is so good about them but I sure enjoyed mine, even if it was a tad chilly down by the lake.

Our little water dude practically ran into the lake once he saw the water and small waves to splash in. The day was cloudy and a little chilly, but this didn't stop Rory from splashing around and getting himself soaked until his lips turned blue.

A huge thank you to mum and dad - your unbelievable hospitality is always such a welcome treat for us all. A thank you to all friends and family who made the journey to catch up with us. We are very lucky to have such wonderful family and friends.
