We're still here...

Hello fellow blog followers! My deepest apologizes for being very slack on keeping you updated with the happenings of the Augustine family. Needless to say it's been a little busy here - I'll do a quick run down on some highlights for you.

Our ever growing Cameron just turned six months old and is now devouring some real food, in pureed form, with excitement.  He absolutely loves his big brother Rory and is all smiles and giggles when Rory is near. Cam loves to be outside and explore everything within his reach.

We've been lucky to experience some spring like weather and one sunny afternoon Lindsay and Rory took to the task of breaking up our snow mountain for the season.  They were both out there for hours getting the yard ready for some warmer weather. Hahaha...I laugh because as I type we are once again being blasted by a spring/winter snow storm with already 15 cm on the ground!

Rory enjoying his new wheelbarrow, almost just like daddy's. A little Easter treat from mum and dad. Rory is a very hard worker and loves to be outside in the yard and especially helping out daddy.

We also ventured to the mountains for a little escape on the Easter long weekend. We enjoyed a beautiful hike along the lake in Kananaskis. Rory had some fun being pulled in the sled, while Cam had a more leisurely hike in the backpack carrier - carried by dad.

We loved the break from the city and took in the views every chance we could. There was also lots of spots to munch on some delicious trail mix - yogurt covered raisins are great motivation to get up some slippery hills.

A very lucky Rory testing out an Easter treat from Grandma and Grandpa Werkman - Rory's first t-ball set. Rory took to it like a pro and even managed to keep the ball in the yard!! I have feeling this may be a game to take to the park as soon as Rory gets a little better, or we'll be seeing a lot of our neighbours!

And of course we cannot forget to mention a very special celebration just last week.  Rory turned 3!! Happy Birthday little dude.  It's hard believe that our little guy is 3.  How our lives have changed over the last three years. Lindsay and I have both watched Rory grow over these last few years with absolute amazement. Rory is a determined, energetic, hilarious and kind spirited joy to have in our lives. We can't wait to see what Rory will accomplish in the next year of his life.  He is already enjoying a sports class once a week and hoping to join soccer for the summer.

It has been a busy time over this last month. We've battled colds, stomach bugs (lots and lots of laundry), winter storms, lunches and snacks outside in the warm sunshine, painting and walks all with lots and lots of giggles and laughs.

Unfortunately we've also had some sad news to share with you as we had to say good-bye suddenly to our Great-Grandpa Werkman. His quiet and kind spirit will be greatly missed by all.
