A day in the mountains

Lindsay and I spent last Sunday enjoying some mountain hiking. We ventured out to Kananaskis, where we actually spent some time camping this past summer. The frozen winter wonderland was a welcome escape for a couple of hours soaking up the crisp mountain air and beautiful scenery.

Belly time...
There was even time for a memorable belly slide by Lindsay - down a smooth as glass, natural ice slide onto the frozen lake.

And as much as I wanted to have a go - you can tell from the next picture why I could not physically indulge in the slippery slide.

The belly shot! Yep that is really me and little Canaussie. All is going well, and going very quickly. April is sneaking up on us and will be here before we know it!!

Getting Ready...

The countdown is on....

Lindsay has been very busy over the last few months painting, moving, organizing things, and assembling - all for the arrival of little (but growing) Canaussie. Linds has been a star helping with all the preparations. The nursery is just about ready - with a basket full of laundry to do and a few more little items to pick up and put away.

The construction begins....

SUCCESS!!!
And now Prenatal classes are in full swing, doctor's appointments every week and a few finishing touches to be done to the Nursery - and then well...we wait.....

A winter's walk

A lovely way to spend a day off.
Last Friday I spent the day with the Snider clan. Shari, Aidan, Maelle and I all bundled up and went exploring Fish Creek Park. It was a gorgeous day with lots of little surprise visitors along our trails!

Shari and Aidan, quiet and still, feeding a few chickadees.

As we were watching the chickadees flutter from hand to hand, from out of the woods crept two more visitors. Two deer strolled behind us across the trail.

And after all that excitement, Aidan and Maelle still had the energy to race ahead on the trail - having to wait for mom and Auntie Ky to catch up!

After a lovely walk we warmed up at the neighbourhood cafe with hot chocolates and cookies.

Back at the Snider headquarters Bree and Jenna were ready for their time to play. They are growing ever so quickly and have become fascinated with the train table.

And of course there is always time for a quick game of peek a boo with Bree.
