Brothers

A big hello from Rory and Cameron! Having some brother time on the play mat. This first picture is cute and innocent enough.  However the second picture looks like the start of years of trouble in the works! I can see it now, "Hey Cam, I won't tell mum if you don't."

Cameron's first visit to our new park and his first swing ride - needless to say he was all giggles and smiles!

Rory just twirling around enjoying the morning sun in his cool sunnies!

Cameron has been busy discovering all the noises he can make - his current favourite one is blowing raspberries.

Look out...

Look out world here comes our soccer superstar.....Rory!!!!!! Sporting number 51 for the Timbit Orange team, Rory enjoys long run ups to kick the ball and scoring on the opposite teams net. Still adjusting how to play as a team we have enjoyed our two soccer Saturdays so far. Mum was even able to get into the action this week and I have to admit to a little confusion on my part on what was happening on the field. At one point there were about twelve three year olds all running in opposite directions and two balls on the field. But the most important part - all of the smiles and laughs (parents included).
A little warm up pregame with daddy!

The best part of the game - snacks - usually Timbits and fruit, gets Rory very excited!

Cameron was there cheering on his big brother.

Cam has been loving his time outside, especially rolling around and attempting to crawl off his blankets on our deck.

Look out world....strong mama was in the yard this weekend! After getting poked and scratched in the head countless times while digging up some rocks, 'mama' took matters into her own hands.  She grabbed the obnoxious tree and tore down the practically dead and ant infested tree with her own bare hands!!! It was quite a sight to see - and boy did it feel good!!!

Success!!!  Okay in reality I think I just had far too much coffee in the morning, but it was great fun!! It's a shame the kids were napping and didn't see how mama does yard work!!!

Getting ready...

We have been lucky to have some beautiful sunny and warm weather over the last week or so and we made the most of it. We started to get ready for the summer season!

Rory started by giving his dump truck a good ole scrub.

Cameron has been devouring some blueberry smoothies - he loves them and we can't spoon them in fast enough!

We have also spent our first morning back at Fish Creek after the snow melt and there were many rocks to be thrown!

Cam just chilling out on the deck sharing a few stories and giggles.

Busy busy

Hello everyone! Look at me - I'm jumping!!
I love to jump and scream and laugh and then jump some more!!

Quite a few weeks ago now, we took the family to the 'Super Train Show'. It was a busy afternoon with lots of people and walking around.  We all loved the Lego train displays - such detail it boggles the mind. There are some impressive creative minds out there!

Rory's favourite was the floor trains - he sat there for ages watching the trains go past.  Rory got even more excited when he saw a Thomas train go speeding past!

"All aboard!!" Rory had fun climbing aboard a child friendly sized train outside.

We're still here...

Hello fellow blog followers! My deepest apologizes for being very slack on keeping you updated with the happenings of the Augustine family. Needless to say it's been a little busy here - I'll do a quick run down on some highlights for you.

Our ever growing Cameron just turned six months old and is now devouring some real food, in pureed form, with excitement.  He absolutely loves his big brother Rory and is all smiles and giggles when Rory is near. Cam loves to be outside and explore everything within his reach.

We've been lucky to experience some spring like weather and one sunny afternoon Lindsay and Rory took to the task of breaking up our snow mountain for the season.  They were both out there for hours getting the yard ready for some warmer weather. Hahaha...I laugh because as I type we are once again being blasted by a spring/winter snow storm with already 15 cm on the ground!

Rory enjoying his new wheelbarrow, almost just like daddy's. A little Easter treat from mum and dad. Rory is a very hard worker and loves to be outside in the yard and especially helping out daddy.

We also ventured to the mountains for a little escape on the Easter long weekend. We enjoyed a beautiful hike along the lake in Kananaskis. Rory had some fun being pulled in the sled, while Cam had a more leisurely hike in the backpack carrier - carried by dad.

We loved the break from the city and took in the views every chance we could. There was also lots of spots to munch on some delicious trail mix - yogurt covered raisins are great motivation to get up some slippery hills.

A very lucky Rory testing out an Easter treat from Grandma and Grandpa Werkman - Rory's first t-ball set. Rory took to it like a pro and even managed to keep the ball in the yard!! I have feeling this may be a game to take to the park as soon as Rory gets a little better, or we'll be seeing a lot of our neighbours!

And of course we cannot forget to mention a very special celebration just last week.  Rory turned 3!! Happy Birthday little dude.  It's hard believe that our little guy is 3.  How our lives have changed over the last three years. Lindsay and I have both watched Rory grow over these last few years with absolute amazement. Rory is a determined, energetic, hilarious and kind spirited joy to have in our lives. We can't wait to see what Rory will accomplish in the next year of his life.  He is already enjoying a sports class once a week and hoping to join soccer for the summer.

It has been a busy time over this last month. We've battled colds, stomach bugs (lots and lots of laundry), winter storms, lunches and snacks outside in the warm sunshine, painting and walks all with lots and lots of giggles and laughs.

Unfortunately we've also had some sad news to share with you as we had to say good-bye suddenly to our Great-Grandpa Werkman. His quiet and kind spirit will be greatly missed by all.

Oh what fun

Oh what fun we have had over the last few weeks. I'll do a quick run down and let you enjoy the pics that follow.  We have snowstorms, fort building, sledding, visits to the zoo where we saw a penguin walk, a fantastic visit with Grandma and Grandpa - not to mention lots of stories, snuggles and smiles.  Mum's own Lego arrived with Grandpa for hours upon hour of creation and fun. Walks in Fish Creek with adventures through the forest. Special treats and unforgettable moments to treasure always!
Snow storm!!!

Cameron cuddles with grammie and grandpa.

Lego time!!! Who is having more fun??? Very serious builders here.

Fun times at the zoo with the penguins.

Up high for smiles with grandpa at Fish Creek.

Cousins Bree and Jenna 'hide' with Rory amongst the trees.

Tracking grandma through the snow and trees!!

Nighttime stories with grandma were always a hit - "Just one more Grandma, just one more please."

The brothers - a rare still and quiet moment.

Cameron's first mummum experience - they're still as messy as they were with Rory.

Thanks for a wonderful visit Grandma and Grandpa. We can't wait till you come back to visit again!!

Just chillin' out

Here are the boys just chillin' out in the afternoon sun.
Cameron having some 'air time' while sharing lots of giggles with Rory.

If only they were always this happy, quiet and calm - my days would be bliss - but I loved the few moments of peace and still love watching Cam and Rory be silly (and loud) together.  I guess our house will only continue to get louder and louder and crazier and crazier as the boys grow.
