Rory meets Grandma

Rory was very excited to finally meet his Grandma Werkman.
Rory and Grandma have been emailing each other for months and have been sharing photos and videos (with some help from mommy).
All three of us (Mom, dad and Rory) even managed to make it to the airport on time to greet Grandma when she arrived. Grandma is enjoying many snuggles and kisses with her new grandson (grandchild number 5). Grandpa Werkman will be arriving this Saturday morning to meet Rory. We are all very happy to have Grandma here to help out a tired mommy and daddy.
Thanks Grandma!!

2 Weeks Old!

2 Weeks old

Rory has had a very busy second week of life. He has enjoyed some outings to Auntie Shari's, walks to the park and grocery store, a visit to mommy's work (met Auntie Deb) and even a trip to the airport to pick up Grandma Werkman.

With all of his adventures, Rory has had some nice long sleeps. I've come to love watching him wake up - stretching his little legs and arms and the oh so adorable cheeky grins and yawns. And of course I managed to capture a few photos.

Rory sleeping soundly.

Starting to wake up...rubbing his eyes.

Almost awake - stretching his little limbs.

And the cheeky grin and champion stretch.

How cute...

One week old

I'm one week old!!
Life doesn't get much better than feeding and sleeping all day - but how could you not love this adorable little face.

But then again we've begun to see mischievous little looks and cheeky grins - especially after he fills his diaper or spits up all over clean clothes or manages to pee on his mom or dad (or even the wall!)

It's hard to believe that our little guy is already one week old. It has been a week of many firsts for Lindsay and I as new parents. We are relishing every single moment from the hilarious of being peed on to the hours spent just watching our son sleep, the funny expressions and the sleepless nights. He seems to grow each day, revealing more and more of his personality. Rory is a very happy and laid back baby and has made the adjustment to parenthood one of great excitement and joy.
Our first family photo.
We celebrated Rory's little one week milestone by having our first family trip to Starbucks - a trip which he slept through, but Linds and I enjoyed a delicious coffee break.
Rory was also visited by Joanne, who enjoyed a few snuggles and smiles before heading back to Vancouver. Thanks for the treats Jo!

Rory's first visitor

Rory meets Auntie Shari

Auntie Shari could not contain her excitement to meet the little dude. Upon arriving, a lovely dinner and gift package was hurriedly set down and Auntie Shari went straight for Rory, camera at the ready. Rory was warned that Auntie Shari sometimes resembles a black photo lens and makes sounds like 'click click click'. Rory was not let down and many photos were taken and Rory even posed with his cheeky grin - loving the attention. The three of us had a lovely visit and a huge thank you to the Snider clan for an awesome prepared dinner and gorgeous gift basket to help us maintain sanity this first week. Rory is one very lucky boy to have such a caring and enthusiastic Auntie. Rory will meet the rest of the Snider Crew today at our favourite walking and rock throwing spot, Fish Creek.

Rory slept through the entire visit, but enjoyed the Auntie Shari cuddles.

Rory's first bath

Welcome to the adventures of Rory's first bath.

Dad took charge of the shampoo and mom took charge of the camera.

First was a nice massaging shampoo...Rory seemed to enjoy this part.

Then came the soap and the rinse cycle...(still going relatively smoothly)

And then came the final rinse in all those little creases...(and well Rory had enough by now)

But no sooner was Rory wrapped up warm and dry was he a content little baby again.

And after all the fuss, Rory was quite ready for snuggles and sleep (as were mom and dad)

Rory Callum Augustine

Introducing Rory Callum Augustine - born 11th April, 2010 at 9:52am. Our little man weighed in at 7lbs 1 ounce, is 53.5cm long and has a full head of black hair - his degree of 'fro' is yet to be determined. Mum and dad are so deliriously happy, we still don't know just how tired we are - yet?

Cuddles with mum.

A very proud dad.

Wild Weather!

Welcome to Calgary!
I went for a long walk this morning, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures. Then five hours later, out of nowhere, winter returned with all it's force! Check out these videos.
